Platinum dichloride, light brown powder, used in electroplating, as catalyst and analytical reagent, also used in epitaxial and diffusion processes in semiconductor production. Preparation: the platinum sponge react with chlorine gas flow 500 ℃ or by PtCl3, PtCl4 heat decomposition was made. The solubility: 581 ℃. Insoluble in water, ethanol, ether. , soluble in acid and ammonia. Storage: low temperature, ventilated and dry.
